Lobster Dinner

February 16, 2009 | By | Add a Comment

For Valentine’s Day this year, my husband and I cooked live lobsters. He wanted them to do battle for the privilege of being cooked last. But the lobsters, sluggish from their fridge-induced coma, just sat there. My cats, who usually chase bugs around the house, weren’t even interested in them.

Here’s Pete and Repeat getting ready for the big show (yes, we named them)

After 10 minutes in the Steamer

Cut in half for the final stages of cooking on the grill

What goes better with lobster than Cajun corn?

We added some fresh baked bread, lemon, and of course our
homemade butter for dipping

I was able to extract the entire piece of claw meat (unlike my husband)

The HUGE mess after our meal

For more information on how we cooked them, click here to watch Bobby Flay demonstrate.
