My home, Greenville, SC, is having the most perfect weather. It would be such a shame to be sewing inside the house, so I’m taking this opportunity to work in my garden. There is much weeding to be done.

This year we grew Grape, Roma and Heirloom Tomatoes, Green, Red and Yellow Bell Peppers, Banana Peppers, Squash, Zucchini, Cabbage, Parsley, Oregano, Thyme, Sage, and Basil. I may have chosen too many vegetables to grow in such a small space, but we seemed to be able to grow everything. I think I over-watered the squash and zucchini because they got root rot and only produced very hard fruit. If anyone knows how to avoid this, please let me know. The cabbages got eaten by bugs but we did manage to eat a few heads.

Here is a picture of some of the veggies and herbs we grew.
My husband is about to make ratatouille. Yummie!
And of course, what would a garden be without a house cat guarding over the rodents. Unfortunately, my cats have never killed anything bigger than a dragonfly. Maybe their mere presence will scare away the squirrels.
